Dear Mom, I will always love and remember you. I will forever remember your wise guidance, especially most recently, and all the good times we’ve made the time to have together. I am deeply sorry that certain persons got your hopes up so high about getting your Indian rights. I know it was a big let down for you. In addition, it's too bad that I did not know, even though I asked, that you could have been buried at piece with those you loved so much, that have gone before you. The timing of your passage was swift, and I did not have the money that week, but did the next, and was told by those that sat there with me that they did not think you should have a place at the cemetery. I now have read the state laws and have discovered that this could have been provided to you, and charged to me at a later time. It is a grave matter to sit in judgment of others without authority to do so. So on that note, I will end this short goodbye.
